Yes. We have updated weather forecasts that indicate the rain will begin at 4 pm on Saturday, Feb 28 in Owingsville, KY.
Absolutely! This is safe and fun AND the reenactment of the Meat Shower is the final event of festival that includes several kid-friendly activities
This is a good question. The forecast appears to be calling for grass-fed beef.
1,876 individually numbered pieces of meat rain will rain from a cloud at least 500 feet in the air above Owingsville at 4pm on February 28, 2026.
The numbers on the pieces of meat rain you find may correspond with prizes that have been donated. This is a way to:
• Encourage folks to collect all of the rain
• Make it even more fun and rewarding
Once you collect pieces of meat rain, return to this website to determine if you will also receive a prize!
Bite-sized and completely edible

GREEN: Festival Area
PURPLE: FREE PARKING AREAS (Also down West Main there is the Middle School Parking Lot and on down is Owingsville Elementary School)
The only NO PARKING AREA we have is on Coyle Street and North Brooks Alley. That is where our Detour Traffic will be driving. If you park anywhere in the RED your car may not be there when you get back, because violators will be towed.
Use your best judgement and don’t block any driveways, parking lot entrances, or private property. You will be towed if you do.
